Borderland 04:42
I’m at the edge of a season, I’m at the edge of a change The edge of my quarter-life crisis, in borderlands range I know I should have grown into a woman by now, But I’m still just a girl albeit a serious one, bearing hopes and concerns I occupy the role of a wife, with the mind of a child I still didn’t make the transition, I’m still waiting in line And I don’t know what I want, And I don’t know what I believe I’m at... And I don’t know what I’m meant for, I don’t know who I’m suppose to be I’m at the borderland living in between I don’t know who I’m praying to anymore, No longer do I have that single comfort Desperate times call for desperate words, even if my dissertation goes unheard I say “I want it all, and I won’t be confined.” And she says, “You can have it all, just not all at the same time.” But I don’t know what I want, And I don’t know what I believe I’m at... And I don’t know what I’m meant for, I don’t know who I’m suppose to be I’m at the borderland living in between Believe me I know the risk I’m making It’s a calculated risk I’m undertaking I try keep the details of my life blurred protect the ones I love from the line of the fire of my words. In 24 years will I have to do this again or am I just an early victim of the borderland Every year that goes by, the longer I’ve been around my society tells me that my value goes down The exceptions to this rule are few and far between And I hold unto them harder than anything And I don’t know what I want, And I don’t know what I believe I’m at... And I don’t know what I’m meant for, I don’t know who I’m suppose to be I’m at... How long will I be here, Will I ever get to leave Do you see me here, Watch me beggin’ on my knees I’m at the borderland living in between

How do I unwind what’s been wound up so tight over centuries and centuries a fist clenched hard, pink and white How do I unwind I want to see myself and try to reacquaint with what’s left when I strip away the varnish and the paint I want to see myself I want to know you, and not like others do not like looking through that twisted glass called pleasantries and politeness I just want to know you And when these things come to pass All we’ll need is forgiveness I try to rewire my mind, go back in time and find a piece to the puzzle a reason or a rhyme prevent contingencies of a crime I try to rewire my mind No, a bandage will not suffice this wound will heal only when I come to realize that the outward pain is coming from the inside No, a bandage will not suffice And when these things come to pass when these things come to pass All we’ll need is forgiveness

Journey Song 04:41
You carved out a path little more than a scratch, the only thing defined was the destination. Like tracks on dry sand, and whispers in the wind, I can’t help but feel there's one too many degrees of separation. How can I get to you? What more can I do to get to you? How can I make it through Make it through to you? Make it through to you… make it through to you. We plant our seeds one at a time with our hearts and with our minds, but we can only wait for the rain and the sunshine. There will always be things we can’t control in this life, still we gotta try… we gotta try. How can I get to you? What more can I do to get to you? How can I make it through Make it through to you? Make it through to you… make it through to you. I’ll keep walking down your path even though I have to keep backtracking I know I’ll make it to my destination. With every step I take the tracks that my feet make, will only make it easier for the next generation I’m gunna get to you I’m gunna make it through and get to you. Yes I’m gunna make it through Make it through to you, and until I do I keep asking myself, How can I get to you? What more can I do to get to you? How can I make it through Make it through to you? Make it through to you… make it through to you.

No Regrets 04:56
You were standing there dazed unaware eyes closed, half asleep I catch a glimpse of your nightmare as your raucous calls cut me deep I’m at the mercy of your ever changing moods They rise and they fall like the tide at the mercy of the moon rising and falling, falling and rising, til I’m buried neck deep in the sand buried in the sand I’m always tiptoeing, ‘round you and your blaring graceless feet I sing my songs muffled and muted to keep you asleep Everything I am, everything I’ll ever be is shaped around you and your needs you and your needs I’m at the mercy of your ever changing moods The bids that you make keep me far from removed from Everything I am everything I’ll ever do and I have no regrets No regrets

Thank You 03:36
I’ve got a second opinion It’s a split decision I know I think I know it all… Silence is priceless Golden it took too long And time slowed to show I was alone Do you know that I thank you? Do you know that I thank you? I’ll follow the side show So long, good bye I’m gone As all good things come to an end Good advice is not always right now So thank you for letting me in Forgiveness, forgets for right now Do you know that I thank you? Do you know that I thank you? I can tell in well deserved arms Harm will never scar you But will your smile be skin deep My mistakes helped protect My regrets have all met me And I still can’t find the words Do you know that I thank you, that I thank you? Oh, do you know that I thank you?

about

"Borderland", is about the space between the known and the unknown: the reminiscing of what's left behind, the anticipation of change, and the challenge of transition.

about

Sarah Eide Rochester, New York

A classical background coupled with a love for folk and roots music has led Sarah to writing songs that are daring yet familiar. Her lyrics are all at once raw, smart and intimate, wrapped in expressive melodies and driven by adventurous chord changes. Her songs dare question aloud spirituality, morality, relationships, societal standards, and where the line lies between right and wrong. ... more
